2024 is a big year for music with new albums by multi-platinum artists in the works. Will this be the year Lorde releases her 4th studio album? Is Dua Lipa releasing a single, an album, or both? Let’s take a look at the most anticipated albums of the year below.

1. Lorde’s 4th studio album

New Zealand singer and songwriter Lorde sold over four million copies of her debut studio album Pure Heroine. Her second album, Melodrama, was released in June 2017 and debuted on the US Billboard 200 at number one. Her most recent release, Solar Power, came out in 2021.

In an interview in 2023, Lorde told Ensemble Magazine: “It has taken me quite a while. I mean, I do just take a long time… I do a lot of research, I write a lot down.” She also said she was excited “about what’s coming.”

There are not many clues about her upcoming album, however she mentioned in the same interview that “It’s always my intention to move as quickly as I fucking can. I don’t want to wait, so take from that what you will.”

2. Dua Lipa’s third album

Dua Lipa’s Houdini, released in November 2023, topped the US Billboard Dance/Electronic chart. The single also reached top ten in various countries including Australia, Canada and Germany.

Dua’s upcoming single Training Season, will be available on February 15th through all mayor platforms. We’ve been able to hear some samples of the new song from the artist’s Instagram posts.

It’s not clear if Dua is releasing an album anytime soon, however it is likely possible that she will release new discography this 2024, and it may feature both Houdini and Training Season.

3. Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department”

Taylor Swift is here with yet another surprise for this year. Her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, will be available through all mayor streaming platforms on April 19.
So far, only the name to the bonus track The Manuscript has been revealed.

Rumors about the release of Reputation (Taylor’s Version) have also hinted that we might see this album coming out later in the year. However, it’s still unclear if she’ll release this album too.
